                              The man who shall be successful 

            Names are the way people recognize each other from everybody else. People can be named after a family member or something meaningful to their parents. Names can be unique for many reasons, and mine is no exception. 

            The first reason is tradition. My name, Linneker,  was chosen by my grandfather because he wanted to keep the tradition of giving German names to some members of the family. He was really proud of his German roots, so he wanted to show that through the names he had given to some people in my family. For my grandfather, it was meant to keep this tradition alive because it was a way to remind him of his father and how he had to be brave to leave his life in Germany to start over in Brazil. 

            The other reason I like my name is that it is very unique. Brazil, where I was born and raised, is a country that was mostly colonized by the Portuguese, so most of the names are related to Portugal. Because of this, I have been considered special among my friends for having a unique name.  

            Furthermore, when my name was chosen, my grandfather wanted something with a more significant meaning. Thus, my name was also chosen because of its meaning. Linneker means acres of Lin or acres of Linseed, which is a kind of grain. My grandfather believed that giving me this name was important because he wanted me to become a very successful man. 

            In conclusion, names are very interesting, especially when people are able to learn about their history and meaning, not only their own meaning but also the meaning that the name has to its owner.

    Hi linneakar you have a very good name. Tradition and names goes mostly. Most of our names are related to our family where we are from and also our origins.

My Unique Name

     In China, where I was born, people’s names consist of two or three characters, and a few consist of four characters. My name consists of  three characters. A n ame can follow the elders in a family , or it can be the parents’ hope that their children will have a good personality and life. I come from   half an old-fashioned family and half modern. My father’s side is very old-fashioned. Once our family had a newborn baby, my grandmother had a 丹, dan , that she gave to the new baby. China has one of the most unique supper culture in the world and each city has different supper style. I have tried all styles of food in my hometown, but my favorite meal is supper.
